The Shine of Sesha Mahal:
One of the amazing mahal we got to see inside the fort. The Mahal, bedecked with glass decorated panels and multi-mirrored ceilings. Mirrored mosaics with shining glasses gave a bright look. This Mahal, built as the bedroom of Maharaja Ajit Singh. We can’t go inside the room due to restriction.
The extraordinary part of the room, that if a tiny light falls over the glass, then the whole room is illuminated with thousands of lights with reflection. One candle is enough to light up the entire room. The floral motifs on the wall amplify the beauty of the mahal. Additionally, we noticed the depiction of Shri Krishna, was painted on the wall.
The Decor of Phool Mahal:
We felt that the beauty of Sesha Mahal was the ultimate. But we were wrong as soon as we came inside the Phool Mahal or Palace of Flower. A silence was prevailing all over.
Our eyes got broader after visualizing the beauty of the Mahal. The vibrant colors, from the royal gold ceiling to the beautiful flower motif designs with a variety of colored petals and the glass ornate doors with luxurious carpet on the floor made the room like Oh My God!!!
This one was built under the supervision of Maharaja Abhay Singh, especially for the private party celebration of the royal men and even also for private meetings.
Now the Phool Mahal is the house of different weapons of the royal family.
We were overwhelmed to explore the mahal. But the tik tok sound of the clock reminded us that we need to move. Mehrangarh Fort-The Most Elegant Fort of Rajasthan Part 2
Peeping through Jhanki Mahal :
Jhanki means a Glimpse. This one was specially made for the queens and the princess of the royal family as they did not have the permission to attend any ceremony physically. They used to peep through the lattice window to take a glimpse of the celebration. We tried to peep through that lattice window for an experience of how the royal females used to see through this during that era. Mehrangarh Fort-The Most Elegant Fort of Rajasthan Part 2
With full respect towards the then Rajasthan culture and rituals, what we experienced, was not that good as it was very difficult to visualize the ceremony which was celebrated below. But we must say the architectural design of the lattice window was amazing. The makers had a lot of patience to design such windows by cutting the rocks and marbles. This mahal today holds some cradles of the ancient times.
Again time pushed us to get out of this mahal. Now we were almost at the end of our exploration. So we moved towards the primary Iron Gate inside the fort. There were many shops, selling Rajasthani carpets, silver and camel bone ornaments and bags.
After that, we noticed a street musician along with his musical instrument, Nagara, played different songs. We made some conversation. When he came to know that we are from Bengal, surprisingly he started to sing a famous Bengali folk song along with Nagara beats. My Niece started dancing with the nagara beats. His feelings towards our culture really made us ecstatic.
Eventually, the time came to bid goodbye to the Mehrangarh Fort with all the beautiful heart touching moments. Mehrangarh Fort-The Most Elegant Fort of Rajasthan Part 2
